Val Holmes had a night to remember for North Queensland on Thursday.
But the performance will likely benefit himself more than the club, given he is hunting a contract with rival NRL clubs.

1. Jahream Bula (Tigers)
What a prospect…. three line breaks, two tries, over 200 run metres - in a team that played the last 30 minutes against the Cowboys with 12 men but never stopped trying.
2. Murray Taulagi (Cowboys)
Hasn't been his best season but warmed up for the finals with three tries and 200 running metres against the luckless Tigers on Thursday night.
3. Valentine Holmes (Cowboys)
In the week he was given permission to talk to rival clubs, played his best game of the year with a try, two try assists and two line breaks.
4. Stephen Crichton (Bulldogs)
Without doubt the buy of the season, his two try performance and leadership skills proved the difference in the Bulldogs' vital win over a stubborn Raiders team on Sunday afternoon before a full house at Belmore.
5. Clinton Gutherson (Eels)
Played fullback but has to be in the team - back to his best with a try, a try assist and a try saver in the big upset win over the Warriors on Friday night.
6. Dylan Brown (Eels)
Pound for pound as tough as any player in the game - smashes into the defence and tackles the big men with venom.
Was at his very best driving the Eels to their surprise win in Auckland.
7. Sam Walker (Roosters)
Starting to rival Reece Walsh and Kalyn Ponga as the game's most exciting player. Scored two chip and chase tries and mesmerised the Dolphins with his skills in Perth on Friday night.
8. Terrell May (Roosters)
Started on the bench against the Dolphins but got 65 minutes due to teammates' injuries and made the most of it, topping the tackle count and running for over 120 metres.
9. Reed Mahoney (Bulldogs)
A smart game from dummy-half in the Bulldogs' narrow win over the Raiders on Sunday but also managed to again niggle the opposition and put them off their game.
