Maroons win game one of Origin
The Queensland Maroons have drawn first blood against the NSW Blues in this year's State of Origin opener at ANZ Stadium.
The Maroons took a 6-4 lead into the halftime break and that was the way it finished with the veteran Queenslanders tackling themselves to a standstill against the rookie Blues.
The bruising arm wrestle took a toll on both sides with Michael Morgan suffering an ugly knock from a rampaging David Klemmer.
All-important Origin victory?
The opening match is vital with the winner of Origin I taking home the shield of 25 of 34 series. (AAP)
