The NRL's off-contract stars
Joseph Manu, Adam Reynolds and Jarome Luai headline the list of players who are free to negotiate with rival clubs from November 1.

Brisbane Broncos
Players off contract in 2024: Adam Reynolds, Kurt Capewell, Ezra Mam, Delouise Hoeter, Jock Madden, Brendan Piakura, Jordan Riki, Marty Taupau, Billy Walters.
Analysis: After their rise to the grand final in 2023, the Broncos' salary cap is starting to become stretched by upgrades.
Reynolds, Mam, Riki and Piakura are the ones to watch on this list. The star halfback is in talks over a one-year extension, while Mam is one of the game's hottest prospects and will demand a lucrative long-term deal.
Forwards Riki and Piakura also have plenty of admirers.
Canberra Raiders
Players off contract in 2024: Nick Cotric, Jamal Fogarty, Peter Hola, Ata Mariota, Trey Mooney, Josh Papalii, Jordan Rapana, Pasami Saulo, James Schiller, Harley Smith-Shields, Elliott Whitehead, Zac Woolford.
Analysis: The Raiders are in a transitional period with their roster after their highest paid player, Jack Wighton, made the call to walk away to join the Rabbitohs.
Of the players listed above, Papalii, Woolford, Whitehead and Fogarty will likely be the top priorities, with 31-year-old Papalii having the security of a mutual option in his current deal, which he could trigger for 2025.
Canterbury Bulldogs
Players off contract in 2024: Liam Knight, Reece Hoffman, Samuel Hughes, Max King, Joseph O'Neill, Chris Patolo, Hayze Perham, Ethan Quai-Ward, Khaled Rajab, Toby Sexton, Jeral Skelton, Jackson Topine.
Analysis: The Bulldogs have recruited heavily over the last couple of seasons and many of the off-contract players listed above will likely make way for the new arrivals and the production line of young future stars Phil Gould is developing in the juniors.
Young halfback Toby Sexton is the one to watch. He arrived at Belmore midway through 2023 and has until the end of next season to convince Gould and rival NRL clubs that he has a future as a top grade No.7.
Cronulla Sharks
Players off contract in 2024: Matt Moylan, Jayden Berrell, Jesse Colquhoun, Braden Hamlin-Uele, Mawene Hiroti, Kayal Iro, Niwhai Puru, Toby Rudolf, Siteni Taukamo, Connor Tracey, Jack Williams.
Analysis: You may not have heard of Cronulla's top free agent, but remember the name Niwhai Puru. The 21-year-old halfback is one of the most highly rated young playmakers going around and is viewed as a long-term replacement for Matt Moylan, who is becoming a season-by-season proposition.
The Sharks will be keen to lock down Puru as soon as possible, while Moylan, Toby Rudolf, Braden Hamlin-Uele and Connor Tracey are the other players likely to attract interest.
Dolphins
Players off contract in 2024: Kodi Nikorima, Euan Aitken, Jesse Bromwich, Brenko Lee, Edrick Lee, Anthony Milford, Mark Nicholls, Tesi Niu, Ray Stone, Valynce Te Whare, Jarrod Wallace.
Analysis: The Dolphins are still very much in a roster build, with the highly anticipated arrival of Broncos pair Tom Flegler and Herbie Farnworth set to provide a big boost.
Jesse Bromwich is the biggest name on the list above, but at 34 he's likely playing out his final contract in the NRL. At 29, Kodi Nikorima still has some good football ahead of him and will likely get a deal elsewhere if not at the Dolphins, while Anthony Milford has been told he will likely see his career out in reserve grade unless he can find a move.
Gold Coast Titans
Players off contract in 2024: Kieran Foran, Jacob Alick, Klese Haas, Isaac Liu, Ben Liyou, Treymain Spry, Joe Stimson, Thomas Weaver.
Analysis: Kieran Foran is coming to the end of a glittering career but may be keen to stick around for one more year in 2025 after reuniting with his 2011 premiership coach Des Hasler.
Outside of that there are no big names off contract and Hasler doesn't have a lot of room to move with his roster after David Fifita and Tino Fa'asuamaleaui re-signed on big money soon after Justin Holbrook's axing triggered free agency clauses in their contracts.
Manly Sea Eagles
Players off contract in 2024: Gordon Chan Kum Tong, Zac Fulton, Karl Lawton, Ben Trbojevic, Raymond Tuaimalo Vaega, Corey Waddell.
Analysis: The Sea Eagles narrowly beat the deadline to lock down Lachlan Croker before he became a free agent, re-signing him on Tuesday, and the only other regular first grader coming off contract is Ben Trbojevic.
The youngest of the three brothers who the club has built around has started to cement himself as a back-row option in the top grade. Manly will be keen to tie him to a new deal, while promising young hooker Gordon Chan Kum Tong has made an explosive start to his first grade career and has a future at the top level.
Melbourne Storm
Players off contract in 2024: Nick Meaney, Tom Eisenhuth, Aaron Pene, Marion Seve, Reimis Smith.
Analysis: Such is Nick Meaney's reputation at the Storm that he was preferred to Ryan Papenhuyzen at fullback in the finals last season. Papenhuyzen is the elephant in the room at Melbourne, with reports suggesting that he is being shopped around to free up salary cap space for new recruits and potentially to help them re-sign Meaney.
New Zealand Warriors
Players off contract in 2024: Shaun Johnson, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak, Rocco Berry, Jackson Ford, Tohu Harris, Valingi Kepu, Freddy Lussick, Luke Metcalf, Jazz Tevaga, Taine Tuaupiki.
Analysis: The Warriors face some big calls on their roster over the coming months, with highly paid stars Shaun Johnson, Dallin Watene-Zelezniak and Tohu Harris all coming off contract. All three were superb in 2023 and will likely draw plenty of interest on the open market.
The likes of Jazz Tevanga, Luke Metcalf, Rocco Berry and Jackson Ford were also key to the Warriors' resurgence this year and will attract rival offers if they're not tied up ASAP.
