Roosters shine in thumping
The Roosters turned the battle for top eight positions on its head with a thumping win over the Dolphins on Saturday and several of their players could easily have found their way into the round 23 Team of the Week as a result.
Due to some strong individual performances in other matches, just two of the Chooks guns made the cut.

1. Clint Gutherson (Dragons)
The wily veteran was at his best, spurring the Dragons to their upset win in the local derby against the Sharks. Scored a try, set one up and made two linebreaks.
2. Xavier Coates (Storm)
Is he the best bomb catcher of all time? Scored two tries leaping for the high ball as Melbourne put the Broncos to the sword.
3. Stephen Crichton (Bulldogs)
A ray of sunshine in the cold and wet conditions at Homebush, scoring a try and creating another as the Dogs ended their rainy weather curse in style against the Warriors.
4. Latrell Mitchell (Rabbitohs)
Sparked the Rabbitohs to victory over the Titans with his return from injury, setting up two tries and saving another. His effort plays proved the difference in the Spoon Bowl.
5. Brian To'o (Panthers)
Came into the game in a tryscoring drought by his standards with just one try in his last eight games, but scored a fine try and ran for a game high 242 metres to get his confidence back.
6. Ethan Strange (Raiders)
In the week when new Kangaroos coach Kevvie Walters declared him a Test 'bolter', produced a stunning hat-trick against Manly.
7. Sam Walker (Roosters)
The little magician had one of his best ever games as the Tricolours demolished the Dolphins 64-12.
8. J'maine Hopgood (Eels)
Led the way up front, topping the tackle count and making some fearsome runs, as Parra edged out the Cowboys.
9. Harry Grant (Storm)
The smartest hooker in the league was at his menacing best in the 22-2 win over the Broncos, creating a vital try and making several dangerous attacking bursts.
