NRLW finals updates: Joey’s tip for V’landys amid grand final entertainment debate

Last weekend in the Broncos victory over the Knights, Romy Teitzel was on the wrong end of some friendly fire.

She collided with the ground and split her head open after an early try and then had a head clash with teammate Chelsea Lenarduzzi.

The two nasty gashes immediately poured blood, and when she later posted a picture of the damage on social media, her account was reported for graphic content.

But the 10 stitches in her head won’t be stopping Teitzel from fighting with her Broncos side to book their spot in the NRLW grand final.

“Unfortunately, it’s not my first rodeo with the split, so it wasn’t a new feeling,” she said before the derby against the Gold Coast Titans.

The undefeated Sydney Roosters are close to finishing with the perfect season, landing a spot in the NRLW grand final.

The preliminary final against the Raiders at Allianz Stadium wasn’t easy for the Roosters, only sealing victory in the last two minutes when halfback Tarryn Aiken scored a brilliant solo try to make it 20-10.

The minor premiers will meet either Brisbane or Gold Coast in the grand final.

Panthers coach Ivan Cleary insists star half and son Nathan is ready to go for the preliminary final against the Knights.

Andrew Johns has named who he wants as the pre-game entertainment after the NRL and Tones and I couldn’t agree on a deal.

His answer was dependent on whether the Knights win the grand final.

“Screaming Jets,” he said emphatically.

“Silverchair’s no chance. I can get the Screaming Jets for sure ... if the Knights get there hashtag Screaming Jets. That’d be incredible.”

Johns famously went to Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns’ house after winning the 1997 grand final and dragged him along to Mad Monday celebrations. Years later Andrew issued a tongue-in-cheek apology about the incident.

Andrew Johns believes the Broncos are just “warming up” and their attack is “humming” heading into this prelim against the Titans.

“Titans have been great this year, but the Broncos win,” he said on Wide World of Sports’ Immortal Behaviour.

“I think the Broncos are the only team that can beat the Roosters. It will be a Broncos and Roosters grand final.”
