The Mark Nawaqanitawase highlight reel continued for the Roosters against the Eels, with a flick pass that made Phil Gould say the cross-code star has been "sent from heaven".

In an upset 30-10 loss for the Roosters, Nawaqanitawase was the only man who would've had the Tricolours fans smiling with some pieces of brilliance.

His individual stats read 117 run metres, two try assists and six tackle breaks.

And one of those assists was the major moment, throwing a miracle flick pass inside to Robert Toia with 20 minutes to go.

The Roosters star was likely about to be taken out by three Eels defenders but flicked one-handed inside to Toia and hit him on the chest with the centre crashing over.

"I mean seriously. This is Benji Marshall-esque," Gould said on Nine.

"Hits him right on the chest with it, one-handed, at pace, he's heading up the freeway towards Penrith and just flicks it back in field.

Andrew Johns added: "Some blokes are just too good."

His effort meant the Roosters were 10 points behind but the Eels pushed ahead to 26-10 with 14 minutes to go.

The Roosters kicked off short following an Eels try with Nawaqanitawase batting the ball back spectacularly over Josh Addo-Carr.

Unfortunately Salesi Foketi knocked the ball on but that didn't take the attention away from the former Wallabies winger's effort.

"Look at what he does here," Gould said.
