'Incredibly hard to beat': Taina Naividi hat-trick helps Roosters equal point-scoring record, extend winning streak

The Sydney Roosters extended their undefeated run despite an early scare from the Parramatta Eels at CommBank Stadium on Saturday evening, winning 56-12.

The Roosters quickly shot out to a 12-nil lead before the Eels fought back to level the score at half time. However, the visitors regained their composure after the break, scoring eight consecutive tries to run away with a dominant second-half victory.

The 56-point score equalled the most points scored by any team in NRLW history, a record which was also matched earlier on Saturday by the Canberra Raiders.

Roosters fullback Taina Naividi starred, scoring a hat-trick. Teammates Tarryn Aiken and Jessica Sergis also added doubles.

"Such a well-balanced team. They're going to be incredibly hard to beat," Andrew Johns said in commentary for Nine.

The Roosters got off to a fast start, with fullback Naividi scoring twice in five minutes for an early double.

Minutes later, the Eels responded through hooker Rueben Cherrington, who crashed over from the play-the-ball.

Sensing a shift in momentum, Eels centre Mia Middleton juggled a kick over the tryline; however, the Bunker confirmed the on-field decision that the ball was lost forward into opposing five-eighth Aiken.

Abbi Church made it back-to-back tries for Parramatta to level the scores.

Church squeezed in between the Roosters' defence, catching them napping.

"It looked like nothing was happening for all money, but she just keeps pumping those legs," Ruan Sims said in commentary.

The score was locked 12-all at half time.

In a repeat of the start to the first half, the Roosters shot out of the blocks for back-to-back converted tries to open the scoring in the second half.

First, an individual effort from Aiken bamboozled the Eels' defence before Naividi exploded from dummyhalf to add her third try.

Aliyah Nasio ran through Fleur Ginn to score as the Roosters' lead quickly extended to 18 points.

It was all one-way traffic in the second half as Aiken and Sergis picked up their second tries.

Completing a second-half blitz of 44 points was tries to Rima Butler and captain Isabelle Kelly.
