Jaeman Salmon has reignited his feud with Raiders coach Ricky Stuart by seemingly mouthing "weak-gutted dog" to the broadcast cameras after scoring for the Bulldogs, with Stuart laughing it off post-match.

The feud emerged in 2022 when Salmon struck Tom Starling with a kick and injured the Raiders hooker.

Stuart then stated post-match: "I've had history with that kid. I know that kid very well. He was a weak-gutted dog as a kid and he hasn't changed now. He's a weak-gutted dog person now".

Stuart was then fined and suspended for his comments. The reason behind his dislike for Salmon has never been fully revealed.

Three years later, the comment is still having an impact. When Salmon scored for the Bulldogs in the 46th minute at GIO Stadium, he went looking for the cameras and mouthed "weak-gutted dog".

During his press conference, Stuart laughed before saying "honestly, how much do you really think I care about that?"

Bulldogs coach Cameron Ciraldo wasn't willing to enter into a conversation about it, saying it was between Salmon and Ricky.

It's not the first time there's been a flare-up. In 2023, Salmon appeared to scream the phrase after scoring for the Panthers against the Raiders.

Ivan Cleary described it as "good karma" post-match.

At GIO Stadium, the Raiders started the match on fire, leading 20-0 after tries to Zac Hosking, Kaeo Weekes, Xavier Savage and Hudson Young.

Canterbury came out of the sheds a completely different side.

Stephen Crichton was first to score before Salmon crossed for his try.

Marcelo Montoya followed before Max King put the Bulldogs in the lead after 57 minutes.

The tries continued with Viliame Kikau and Jacob Kiraz both piling on the misery towards the Raiders.

Canberra's day worsened with a minute left as boom recruit Matty Nicholson had to be assisted off the field with an ankle injury.

"That's a bitter blow," Dan Ginnane said on Fox League.

The match finished at 32-20 in favour of the Bulldogs.
