Broncos 'temptation' put to the test as 'very lucky' Ezra Mam returns from suspension
League icon Phil Gould says Ezra Mam is "very lucky" to be available for selection after he copped a heavy suspension for an off-field incident.
In December, Mam was found guilty of drug driving charges, after a two-vehicle crash in Brisbane's inner west on October 18.
The 22-year-old copped a nine-game NRL suspension, while also being slapped with a huge club-imposed fine.

Now his suspension is over, speculation is ramping up as to whether Michael Maguire will pick him for the Broncos this week.
Brisbane have had an inconsistent start to the season and are coming off a big loss to the Panthers at Magic Round.

Gould admitted he's surprised Mam is even available at this time of the year.
"I think he's very lucky to be playing at all, the way we rule players out these days," he said on Nine's 100% Footy.
"The sort of suspension he got, I think he's very, very lucky but he's going to be available and I guess there'll be a temptation to throw him in."

Cameron Smith agreed with Gould around the "very lucky" sentiment.
Much of the dilemma around Mam's return comes with the players Brisbane have at their disposal.
Adam Reynolds and Ben Hunt are the halves at the moment with Hunt expected to shift to hooker.
Gould doesn't believe the latter is why the veteran moved from the Dragons to Brisbane.

"When you've got Adam Reynolds and Ben Hunt in the halves, two most experienced halves in the game, what do you do with them?" he said.
"I don't think Ben Hunt went to the Broncos to play hooker."
