Panthers vs Rabbitohs: Top try, scuffle light up clash!

A sparkling Rabbitohs try gives South Sydney hope as tensions erupt!

The Rabbitohs cut up the Panthers from inside their half of the field and, in a lively passage of play featuring a no-look Latrell Mitchell flick pass, the ball ends up with Isaiah Tass.

The South Sydney speedster puts a toe on the ball on the left wing and outruns Dylan Edwards to plant the footy, before a Mitchell conversion reduces the deficit to 16-10 with 80 seconds remaining.

"This was absolutely brilliant," Billy Slater said of the try on Nine's coverage.

Push and shove broke out but was quick to fizzle out.

Panthers vs Rabbitohs: Martin denied

Liam Martin gets his right arm over the try line but loses control of the ball while being tackled by Keaon Koloamatangi and Lachlan Ilias.

Koloamatangi takes Martin low and the young haflback wrestles with Martin's top half.

"A big body for a halfback," Andrew Johns says on Nine's coverage.

Panthers vs Rabbitohs: South Sydney awarded controversial try

Zachary Gates

A chorus of boos rings throughout Penrith Stadium as the Rabbitohs are awarded a dubious try.

Alex Johnston dots down on the left wing in the 67th minute and is given the try, but Michael Chee Kam may have executed a pass in the play after his left arm made contact with the ground.

If that was the case, Chee Kam should have been deemed tackled.

The Rabbitohs trail 16-4 after an unsuccessful Latrell Mitchell conversion attempt.
