'Disappointed' Oscar Piastri admits he 'deserved' Brazilian Grand Prix penalty
Australian Formula 1 prodigy Oscar Piastri has accepted responsibility for the penalty he copped after the Brazilian Grand Prix as he looks to move beyond a disappointing trip to Sao Paulo.
McLaren's Piastri sent RB's Liam Lawson spinning off the track in wet conditions on lap 26 when he tagged the New Zealander's left-rear wheel.
The two youngsters were contending for seventh place under brakes heading into turn one when Piastri sent Lawson sliding into the run-off, costing the Kiwi two places.

Piastri finished the race in seventh place but a 10-second penalty bumped him down to eighth, the same position in which he'd begun the grand prix, while Lawson finished ninth.
"[The penalty] was deserved. I didn't get far enough up and tagged his left-rear [wheel]," Piastri said.
"I apologised in the red flag.
"Just one of those days, I would say."

Red Bull's Max Verstappen began the grand prix in 17th on the grid but surged through the field for one of the most remarkable wins of his career.
The Dutchman extended his lead over McLaren's Lando Norris to 62 points in his push for a fourth F1 title in succession.
Piastri is placed fourth in the standings on 262 points, behind Verstappen, Norris and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc.

The Melbourne product admitted battling the rain in Sao Paulo was difficult.
"It was tricky," Piastri said.
"Just trying to stay on track at some points was very, very tough.
"Obviously disappointing, but [there are] some things to review."
Los Angeles will host the next stop on the calendar on November 25 (AEDT).
