One race to go!
After some positive news regarding Pondalowie and Harry Coffey, we’re now closing in on the final race of the day at Flemington.
Flying For Fun will start as the even-money favourite in the Group 3 Asahi Super Dry Sprint and looks to be the one to beat, especially with J-Mac on board.
Bridal Waltz is the only other runner at single-figure odds over the 1100m trip.
Nasty fall as J-Mac wins again
Lady Shenandoah salutes as a $1.85 favourite in the Empire Rose, but there was a nasty fall in the final Group 1 of the day.
Pondalowie threw jockey Harry Coffey off in the straight. No other horses appeared to be caught up in the fall.
Both the rider and horse are reportedly back on their feet after the ugly incident, with Coffey walking back to the jockeys’ room.
Pondalowie has undergone a preliminary vet examination and appears OK.
