Who came last in the 2024 Melbourne Cup?

A daring lead could not be held onto by Just Fine and jockey Jye McNeil as they crossed in last place in the 2024 Lexus Melbourne Cup.

The six-year-old was not a favourite to win the race but remained in the lead until the final turn onto the home straight.

Melbourne Cup winner Knight's Choice finished 25 strides ahead of Just Fine.

Just Fine is trained by racing great Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bolt.

Betting odds for Just Fine were at a fixed price of $34.00 to win the Cup and $12 to place ahead of the race.

The Map and Saint George made up the bottom three along with Just Fine.

All horses finished the race.
