Forbes richest athletes 2024: How much did the world's top 10 highest earning stars earn last year

Forbes has revealed the 50 highest-paid athletes between last May and the end of April.
Of that list, 19 come from the NBA, 11 from the NFL, eight footballers, five golfers, four boxers, two F1 stars and a baseballer.
Forbes has released the figures in USD. The Australian conversion will appear throughout in brackets.
Wide World of Sports has listed the top-10, but first, some notable inclusions on the list.
43. Cameron Smith (Golf) - $48m
Cameron Smith is the only Aussie in the top-50. He earned a combined $48m ($72m) on and off the course.
29. Scottie Scheffler (Golf) - $59.2m
Scottie Scheffler has spent a combined 87 weeks atop the world golf rankings.
His 2024 Masters win fell just inside the time period.
He earned a combined $59.2m ($90m).
23. Tiger Woods (Golf) - $67.2m
Tiger Woods was on the list largely thanks to the $55m ($82.5m) he earned from endorsements. Forbes said Woods still earned $12m ($18m) on-course.
21. Lewis Hamilton (F1) - $69m
Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton earned a combined $69m ($103.5m) driving for Mercedes, but will earn a massive pay rise when he switches to Ferrari in 2025.
Expect him further up the list next year.
17. Max Verstappen (F1) - $81m
Verstappen has won each of the last three world championships, and according to Forbes is the highest-earning driver on the F1 grid.
He pocketed a combined $81m ($120.5m) driving for Red Bull.
13. Shohei Ohtani (Baseball) - $85.3m
Shohei Ohtani signed an incredible AU$1 billion deal with the LA Dodgers last December, widely regarded as the biggest sports contract ever signed.
His contract will run for a decade, earning him about AU$100m a year.
According to Forbes, he earned a combined US$85.3m (AU$128m) last year.
And now for the top-10.
10. Lamar Jackson (NFL) - $100.5m
Baltimore Raven Lamar Jackson just squeezed into the top-10, earning US$100.5 million (AU$150.58 million) combined earnings.
On the field, he's paid $98.5 million by the Ravens.

That off the field figure is by far the smallest of anyone in the top-20, let alone the top-10.
9. Stephen Curry (NBA) - $102m
Stephen Curry has one of the most recognisable names in basketball.
He earned $102m ($151m) last year, including $52m ($75.5million) on court for Golden State.
