Celtic heartbreak as stoppage time drama ends Champions League dream, Bayern Munich scrapes through

Bayern Munich survived a major scare to eliminate Celtic and advance to the last 16 of the Champions League on Wednesday (AEDT).
Canada star Alphonso Davies scored in the fourth minute of stoppage time to level the second leg match 1-1 in Munich and advance 3-2 on aggregate.
Davies reacted fastest to bundle the ball in the back of the net after Celtic goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel had saved Leon Goretzka's close range header.

"Something we train in training," Davies said.
"I just try to get myself in the box and instinct kicked in."
Celtic had led 1-0 after Nicolas-Gerrit Kuhn's 63rd minute goal.

"I feel sorry for Celtic. They will rue those chances they missed, particularly in the first half," Mark Bosnich said on Stan Sport.
Celtic had dominated much of the play against their highly paid rivals.
"There will be accusations against (Bayern manager) Vincent Kompany," German football expert Archie Rhind-Tutt said on Stan Sport.

"A real concern for him - he will be taking some heat. I imagine there will be some stern words. Celtic ran them mightily close."
Meanwhile, Chemsdine Talbi dazzled observers again with his tremendous dribbles and precise crosses as Club Brugge thrashed Atalanta 3-0.
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder scored twice in the second leg, putting the Belgian side ahead after only three minutes.
He was at the conclusion of a fast move after Hans Vanaken found Ferran Jutgla, who passed the ball to Talbi to his right inside the box for his teammate to slot the ball into the back of the net at the far corner.
That was just the beginning of his show of class.
Talbi doubled his team's lead on the evening in the 27th minute after another slick move with a shot from the rebound following goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi's reflex save.
Jutgla then made it 3-0 with a powerful strike just before halftime.
It gave Brugge a 5-1 lead on aggregate, in strong position to reach the last 16 of the tournament.
A fast player with great technique, Talbi made his debut with the under-23 squad three years ago before joining the first team in 2023.
He has scored five goals and delivered two assists for Brugge in the Belgian league.
