Aussie gun's extra time goal hands Arsenal inaugural Champions Cup trophy and $3.3m prize
Matildas star Caitlin Foord scored a clutch goal in extra time in the inaugural format of the FIFA Women's Champions Cup to hand Arsenal the victory and a $3.3m payday.
As the most decorated women's club in England, Arsenal collected more silverware after winning 3-2 against Brazil's Corinthians, with Foord lifting the trophy alongside Arsenal teammates and Aussie team compatriots Steph Catley and Kyra Cooney-Cross.
Finding the back of the net in the 104th minute in the Emirates Stadium, Foord's left foot strike handed the Gunners an amount worth more than four times the prize money they pocketed for winning the Women's Champions League last season.

While the Matildas forward played her pivotal role for the team, Catley also played the entire match of the thrilling, 120-minute final that saw the South American visitors level the score twice.
The second equalising goal came from Corinthians' Vic Albuquerque, a last-gasp penalty that forced the game into extra time. But it was Foord's moment.
The Australian broke free late in the first period of extra time and drove her shot inside goalkeeper Leticia's net.

Cooney-Cross was an unused substitute after she recently return from a leave of absence to fly home to Australia to be by her mother's side, who is battling cancer.
The trio of Matildas players will begin their Asian Cup campaign for Australia on March 1 against the Philippines in Perth.
The FIFA Women's Champions Cup is a new competition that features the six continental champions and will run annually.
