That wraps up our live coverage of the friendly between the Matildas and Haiti.

Montemurro’s blunt reply to World Cup question

Damien McCartney

Matildas coach Joe Montemurro gave a chuckle and a simple answer when he was asked if his Matildas side was ready for next year's world cup.

"No," he said after the Haiti match.

Montemurro has faced criticism in the past for not giving his extended Matildas squad game time.

But against Haiti on Wednesday morning (AEDT), Montemurro did just that, giving fans a glimpse of what a Matildas team might look like in the coming decade.

"We need more time," Montemurro continued.

"It's probably more about selecting the squad because now we're starting to build a big roster of players and I need more time to make a decision on who I can bring.

"It was a good (international) winder for us. We played against Germany … we felt that we were not far, and we know the areas where we need to fix."

FULL TIME

Maybe the referee played the mercy rule – full time was blown bang on 90 minutes without playing any added time.

The Matildas comprehensive victors, 7-1.

Five Matildas got their name on the score sheet.

Mass substitutions

Damien McCartney

Joe Montemurro is making massive changes late in this clash.

A full-strength Tillies side has more than 1000 international appearances cumulatively. He started the match with a team with about 600 caps.

And he’s finishing with one with less than 300.

Earlier, Remy Siemsen replaced Leticia McKenna, Daniela Galic replaced Hayley Raso, Alexia Apostolakis replaced Kaitlyn Torpey.

Then Chloe Lincoln replaced Mackenzie Arnold in goal as well, Tori Tumeth replaced Courtney Nevin, Alexandra Chidiac replaced Clare Wheeler and Jamilla Rankin replaced Charlotte Grant.

Oh, and Holly McNamara has just scored the Tillies’ seventh as well.

Tillies running riot

This is turning into an absolute training drill for the Matildas now.

Daniela Galic has her first international goal less than 10 minutes after coming on to the field.

It came from another simple pass in the Haitian box – Alana Murphy will get the assist – and puts the Matildas up 5-1.

Both Galic and Leticia McKenna have got good game time in this international window by virtue of Mary Fowler's absence, and they've both stood up.

And just as I go to publish this, the Tillies have scored again and that's the first set, 6-1.

Clare Wheeler has scored a stunner from right at the top of the box. Haitian 'keeper Naïla Louissaint got a fingertip to it but was never going to stop it.

The sprinklers are on!

Damien McCartney

Oof. This isn't a good look.

This is an international friendly at a neutral venue … and the sprinklers just came on the field.

There was a stoppage and Haiti were making some substitutions, but in the background you could clearly see the sprinklers had come on and the players looking at each other wondering what to do next.

They weren't on for more than a few seconds though, and there was no other delay, but sheesh.

The commentators didn’t say anything about it – perhaps they didn’t see it?

Minutes later, Caitlin Foord put the Tillies 4-1 up after Sam Kerr put a lovely through ball in the Haitian box.

The Tillies have been totally in control in this second half, and that’s surely going to be an unassailable lead now. And just rewards for Caitlin Foord.

Tillies score!

Damien McCartney

The Tillies' have gone 3-1 up off the back of a Haiti own goal.

Caitlin Foord made a great break and had Sam Kerr in support. She got the pass away to Kerr, and it’s unclear if Kerr was trying to centre a pass for another Tillies attacker – there was nobody there – or if she just butchered the shot herself, but Haiti’s Kethna Louis got her leg to the ball and in it went.

There are a handful of supporters in the ground, but judging by the music, the chanting and the cheers whenever Haiti have the ball, they're large Haitian. But they're quiet now.

The Matildas have enjoyed much of the field position in this second half, and Alana Murphy only minutes earlier had a cracking shot denied by an even better save from Haiti 'keeper Naïla Louissaint.

Kethna Louis scored an own goal when she got a foot to a Sam Kerr pass. Paramount+

Second half underway, concern for Raso

Damien McCartney

Good morning! Damien McCartney jumping in the blog to take you through this second half in France.

Play has resumed in France, and there is some early concern for Hayley Raso.

In the Haiti box, Raso looked to try and get past a defender and there was heavy contact. Raso has stayed down and has since gone to the side of the field – but it’s unclear if she’s going to be subbed off or if she’ll be checked and allowed to return.

It doesn’t look like there’s a huge amount of concern from her teammates or the Matildas medics, though.

And she returned to the field minutes later.

Hayley Raso was taken to the sideline early in the second half. Paramount+
