A-League goalkeeper concedes own goal in 'absolute catastrophe' after 70 metre clearance
Wellington Phoenix goalkeeper Josh Oluwayemi had a moment to forget during his side's 5-0 derby loss to Auckland City after a dreadful own goal which led to his coach's resignation.
Well inside Auckland's half, Jake Girdwood-Reich booted a ball long in the 24th minute with Oluwayemi outside the box as it continued to float long.
Oluwayemi tried to head the ball away but it grazed him and dribbled into the goal.

"Goodness me, what an absolute catastrophe for Josh Oluwayemi," caller Jason Pine said on Sky Sport.
"Jake Girdwood-Reich has scored in the most extraordinary of circumstances has scored his first A-League goal for Auckland FC, absolutely incredible."

Jacob Spoonley added: "No one knows how to react to this, confusion is all around Sky Stadium ... Josh Oluwayemi can step back into his 18-yard box, he's under no pressure, there's no one near him. That is entirely manageable ... Auckland didn't even know what to do, a bizarre opening to derby number three."
Oluwayemi seemingly didn't know how to react, clapping his hands and then briefly putting them on his head.
The goalkeeper was previously in Tottenham Hotspur's system. He has previously represented England at youth level.

Unfortunately for Girdwood-Reich the goal was ruled an own goal meaning he's still waiting for his first goal for Auckland FC.
Pine said on commentary the goal was near 70 metres.
The disaster for Oluwayemi became a nightmare, when he conceded another three goals before half-time. Jesse Randall scored two while Guillermo May had another.
Oluwayemi was subbed off at half-time.
Lachlan Brook grabbed the final goal in the 74th minute to seal a 5-0 victory.
Wellington then confirmed post-match that coach Giancarlo Italiano had resigned in the aftermath with his side in 10th on the ladder.
