'Geez that is disappointing': Renegades star Deandra Dottin walks off after 'unforgivable' diamond duck

Melbourne Renegades batter Deandra Dottin was dismissed for a diamond duck in the WBBL final in a moment that was described as "unforgivable" by commentators.

The overseas import came to the crease with her side already in trouble at 2-23 against the Brisbane Heat after skipper Sophie Molineux departed for 6.

Dottin joined teammate Hayley Matthews at the crease and they looked to have picked up a single instantly - but replays told a different story.

Matthews worked a ball off her pads for an easy run, but Dottin's bat stuck into the turf and she was sent packing without facing a ball.

"The big player not getting the bat over the line, caught on the crease ... Dottin out without facing a ball in the WBBL final," Megan Barnard said on Fox Cricket.

"It's a little unforgivable for an experienced player to do something as casual as that, she could have been well over the line."

Co-commentator and former Australian cricketer Mel Jones was left stunned by the dismissal as Dottin walked off the field.

"That's almost unforgivable, there was an easy single there" she said.

"Dottin did not take off at all ... not able to make her ground, geez that is disappointing."

Matthews finished with an impressive 69 off 61 balls as the Renegades limped to 9-141 from their 20 overs, setting the Heat a solid total in the decider.
