STUMPS: Pakistan complete opening-day domination
Pakistan have reached stumps at 1-245 on a dominating opening day of the first Test.
Opener Imam-ul-Haq will resume on day two on 132 from 271, joined by Azhar Ali on 64 from 165.
The only wicket Australia took on the first day was gifted to the away side, when opener Abdullah Shafique charged down the wicket, took a wild slog at a Nathan Lyon delivery and skied it to Pat Cummins at mid-on.
"Such a special performance," said former Australia quick Michael Kasprowicz of ul-Haq's century.
Aussies take the new rock
Australia have opted to take a second new ball from the 83rd over of the day, with left-arm quick Mitchell Starc receiving the first over.
New ball available but Aussies turn it down
A second new ball is now available to Australia because the first day has reached the 80-over mark, but visiting captain Pat Cummins has opted against taking it.
Veteran off-spinner Nathan Lyon is bowling the 81st over of the Rawalpindi Test.
Pakistani advances to 50
Azhar Ali has pushed a Marnus Labuschagne delivery to long-off and run a single to bring up a half-century.
It's the Pakistan first drop's 35th half-century in Test cricket.

Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq and first drop Azhar Ali have combined for a 100-run partnership on the first day, reaching the milestone during the final session.
Ul-Haq has contributed 109 from 220 and Ali 47 from 108.
Pakistan are 1-205 from 72 overs and Australia will have the option of taking a new ball in eight overs' time.
Pakistan opener scores maiden Test ton
Imam-ul-Haq has bunted a full Mitchell Starc delivery through cover for four to bring up his first Test century.
The Pakistan opener had made a top score of 76 from 11 previous Tests, but on day one of the series opener he's made a century from 200 balls.
"Imam-ul-Haq goes to glory!" said Rob Key on Fox Cricket as Pakistan's total ticked over to 1-192.
The left-hander leapt high in the air, pumped his right fist and embraced batting partner Azhar Ali in an emotional hug.
He then looked to the heavens as he raised his arms, before bowing on his knees and kissing the turf, his teammates and those in the crowd standing and applauding.
"What a knock," wrote BBC cricket commentator Aatif Nawaz on Twitter.
"A perfectly constructed Test match hundred.
"Yes, conditions were favourable, but he had to contend with an exceptional bowling attack."
Former Australia spinner Brad Hogg labelled ul-Haq's ton "wonderful", while Sydney Morning Herald sports journalist Andrew Wu described the hundred as "a show of maturity".
Pakistan fast-bowling icon spotted in crowd
The man behind the fastest ball in international cricket on record, former Pakistan quick Shoaib Akhtar, has been spotted in the Rawalpindi crowd.
No man has bowled a faster ball than Akhtar's 161.3-kilometre-per-hour zinger against England during the 2003 ODI World Cup.
In an international career spanning 1997 to 2011, Akhtar took 178 wickets from 46 Tests and 247 scalps from 163 one-dayers.
"Big boy's in the house," said legendary Pakistan quick Waqar Younis on Fox Cricket.
"I remember a series ... and he was in the top of his game and running in (and) bowling 160-plus kilometres per hour and (had) his hair flying all over the place and he loved it.
"He still has beautiful hair. Maybe a little less, but very silky.
"It's good to see him out and coming and supporting Pakistan Test cricket, supporting Australia, thanking Australia for coming out over so many years, sitting in the crowd, loving every moment."

Play resumes after tea
The third session of the day is underway with Pakistan resuming at 1-171.
Opener Imam-ul-Haq is on 92 from 161 and first drop Azhar Ali is on 30 from 71.
Aussies welcomed by Pakistan royalty
Pakistan cricket legend and incumbent prime minister Imran Khan has welcomed Australia's touring party to the country.
In an international career spanning 1971 to 1992, Khan took 362 wickets and made 3807 runs from 88 Tests, as well as registering 182 scalps and 4844 runs from 175 one-dayers.
He also captained Pakistan to the 1992 ODI World Cup, hosted by Australia and New Zealand.
Khan, Sir Garfield Sobers, Sir Ian Botham, Keith Miller and Jacques Kallis are considered the greatest all-rounders in history.
