Teen prodigy smashes 15-ball IPL half-century for Rajasthan Royals

Teenage prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi smashed a 15-ball half-century as the Rajasthan Royals thrashed the Chennai Super Kings by eight wickets in the IPL.
On a pitch which was under covers for most of the last two days due to wet weather, Chennai were sent in and crumbled to 127 all out in 19.4 overs.
Opening the batting alongside Test star Yashasvi Jaiswal, the 15-year-old was dropped from the first ball he faced but then powered the chase with 52 off 17 balls - raising the third fastest fifty in IPL history - as the Royals cruised to 2-128 in just 12.1 overs.

Sooryavanshi's miscued pull shot against Matt Henry in the first over was dropped by debutant Kartik Sharma, a tough chance that rolled over the boundary.
Sooryavanshi gave Rajasthan a blazing start of 0-74 in the powerplay.

He clobbered four boundaries and five sixes before raising his bat after only 15 balls, before he holed out to Sarfaraz Khan at sweeper cover.
“The plan was to decide the game in the powerplay as we’d restricted them to a low score and after every ball Jaiswal doesn't tell me to take a single," Sooryavanshi said.
"He tells me that the ball's going off the bat nicely and to keep going.”
Jaiswal had a front-row seat to Sooryavanshi's artistry and finished 38 not out.
Earlier this year, Sooryavanshi scored a blistering 175 off 80 balls in the U19s World Cup final against England, leading India to victory in the tournament.
Last year, the teen freak scored a century at just 14 years of age in the IPL.
