David Warner to be back on Aussie screens as Thunder confirm star's commitment

Australian cricket fans will not be starved of David Warner this summer despite his international retirement.

The Sydney Thunder have announced the left-hand batter will play his first full Big Bash League season in the lime green.

Warner has signed a fresh two-year deal with the western Sydney outfit.

With his retirement from Australian duties freeing him up to play domestic leagues, he is hoping to line up for every Thunder game.

"[There's a] great bunch of people, a great coach and I've always been a part of Thunder," Warner said on Tuesday.

"I really liked the environment last year, the group we had brought a lot of energy.

"This year, I think we can go a couple of steps better."

Warner's announcement comes a day after Steve Smith confirmed he will play for the Sydney Sixers in the BBL this summer.

Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, and Alex Carey, though, will only be available during a short break from international duties.
