Australian great Michael Hussey 'surprised' as Sam Konstas overlooked by the Sydney Thunder for BBL match
Sam Konstas may not be in the best form of his career this season, but one great of the game was surprised the young star was dropped by the Sydney Thunder.
Konstas was named in the extended squad earlier in the week to face the Brisbane Heat at the SCG, but come game day, coach Trevor Bayliss overlooked the 20-year-old for selection.
To some, the selection choice was not overly shocking given Konstas had not gone past 50 in his last four knocks, but Australian great Michael Hussey seemed stunned by the move.

"I actually am a little bit surprised, to be honest," Michael Hussey said on Fox Cricket.
"He scored 63 against the Brisbane Heat when they last faced each other.

"Yes, he has been battling a little bit with form in the last few innings and is probably a little bit low on confidence - they will know inside the camp how he is going personally.
"But maybe this is just a circuit breaker for him to get back in the nets, do some good work. Hopefully we can see him back in the last few games."
Konstas is a favourite amongst the Sydney Thunder crowd, having inked a fresh deal that will see him stay in the green jersey for the next four seasons.
But with the Thunder quickly falling from being 2025 Big Bash finalists to now sitting at the bottom of the table, Bayliss has been forced to make some bold moves.
Coming up against the seventh-placed Brisbane Heat, the Thunder will be looking to slow down the momentum of their rival's returning Test stars.
