Unsuspecting security guard thwarts 'one of the catches of the season' in collision with BBL star
Perth Scorchers fielder Finn Allen ran into a security guard at Adelaide Oval after nearly taking a stunning catch on the boundary in Sunday night's game.
In the second innings, Mahli Beardman bowled to Adelaide Strikers' batter Cameron Boyce, who carved the ball towards the boundary. Allen sprinted across and plucked a sensational one-handed grab.
But his momentum proved impossible to stop as he went beyond the boundary rope and although he tossed the ball back into the air, he collided with an unsuspecting security guard and the ball hit the ground for six.

"Oh, the security guard," exclaimed commentator Adam Gilchrist, laughing at the footage of Allen stumbling over the guard.

In the game against the Strikers, Perth won by a comfortable 32 runs.
Man of the match Mitchell Marsh led his team's charge to their fifth win in the BBL season, hitting 88 off 51 balls while the Strikers scrambled to find an answer.
The Scorchers become the first ever team to reach 200 in four games - all away from home - in a BBL season after whacking 16 sixes.

Despite a valiant early charge from Alex Carey in the chase, the home team lacked the depth to sustain the required run rate.
With this win, the Scorchers move to second on the ladder, trailing only the Hobart Hurricanes.
Meanwhile, the Strikers find their finals hopes slipping further away.
