Mitch Marsh caused chaos for the Hobart Hurricanes and left a punter drenched in beer on his way to a century for the Perth Scorchers.

Marsh was on 58 off 38 balls when he launched a Mitch Owen delivery over the offside boundary with a cover drive.

The ball bounced just over the rope before half volleying to a member of the crowd, who tried to stop it with one hand and spilt his beer on his shirt.

"That's probably the shirt he got for Christmas too," Mark Waugh said on Fox Cricket.

"... that was a nasty length in front of him, he did well not to wear that."

The all-rounder reached his hundred off 55 balls.
