'Too far': Paul Gallen's undies fight offer that shocked Sonny Bill Williams
Updated . First published
As expected, there was a raised level of tension between Sonny Bill Williams and Paul Gallen ahead of their bout, but it's unlikely anyone expected it to get to the level of almost fighting naked.
Both former NRL stars have shared a war of words between each other, which has included references to Cronulla's drugs scandal and Williams' controversial departure from the Bulldogs.
During the press conference two days out from the fight, Gallen was asked if he'll have any respect for his rival when they arrive in the ring.

His response was blasé.
"Who cares? Who cares? Who cares what's happened in the past? Who cares what's happened now? I really don't care," he said.
"We're going to get in there and get it done and whoever wins, wins.

"At the end of the day it's a fight, that's it."
Williams then said "it'd be nice to remove all these chairs and get it done right now".
Gallen's response was eye-opening.

"I'd love to be locked in a room and see who walks out, no rules, in our undies, see who walks out," he said which brought laughs.
Williams, who had his head down, quickly raised it and expressed shock when the undies offer came about.
"We've gone there, already. That's a bit too far man, a bit too far," he said.
