Bathurst beauties channelling their beast

Female drivers have a long history of turning heads at the Bathurst 1000, but sadly never from the podium. All that could change this year.
More than 30 women have competed in the 55-year history of the Great Race, but few have arrived with the resume of Swiss ace Simona de Silvestro who will team up with young Queenslander Renee Gracie.
Together, they will form Bathurst's first all-female driver pairing in 17 years.
Meet Swiss driving star Simona de Silvestro.
The 27-year-old is a former Sauber F1 test driver.
She is one of only three women to have achieved an IndyCar podium finish.
Like her Aussie teammate, Silvestro is a sports enthusiast.
... who is just at home pedalling around mountains on two wheels...
.. or making waves on a wake board.
Silvestro's arrival Down Under is seen as a major coup for the event.
She will line-up with Gracie in a wildcard entry.
For her part, Gracie couldn't be happier to be playing the role of apprentice.
