Goodnight!

Anna Pavlou

That was just insane.

What a night. Could we have seen this coming?

Thanks for joining us for Wide World of Sports' LIVE coverage of tonight's semi-final, with the Lions coming from 44 points down to snatch a five-point victory over GWS!

Brisbane now head to the MCG to face Geelong on Saturday evening, with likely a 5.15pm (AEST) game on the cards.

Sydney host Port Adelaide in their preliminary final on Friday night.

Goodnight for now. We will see you next week!

Giants need to work through mental barrier

Anna Pavlou

GWS have led for 93 per cent of their last two matches, and ended up losing both.

It's a straight sets exit for them, and coach Adam Kingsley is devastated.

These Giants have come so close, but they fall short, again.

Giant Tom Green led with 33 disposals, Will Ashcroft was best for the Lions with 27.

Joe Daniher had four goals.

Heartbreak for GWS, fears King

Anna Pavlou

It was a high scoring game and it was marvellous. But for the Giants, it means a straight sets exit.

But on the other end of the spectrum, Lions coach Chris Fagan is loving every second of this!

"I've never seen a final like it. They were dominated, picked apart tactically. You just don't win those games," David King said on Fox about the Lions.

As for GWS, King is concerned that this will leave scars.

"They won't recover from this for a long, long time," he said.

Joe Daniher stood up for Brisbane in that win and kicked one of their six goals in the final term to hand them the victory!

"I've been working on it. Nice to get that goal," he said on 7.

"We just kept at it. It was basic finals footy."

The Giants led for nearly 130 minutes of this match.

And the Lions led for just 10 minutes. But guess what? That's all that counts in September on that final siren!

LIONS WIN. LIONS WIN!

Anna Pavlou

This is the most extraordinary fightback.

Brisbane has done it. THE LIONS ARE THROUGH TO THE PRELIM!

Lion hearts, STAND UP! YOU'RE THROUGH!

This is insane.

Brisbane has come from 44 points down. YEP. 44 points down.

They have won by FIVE POINTS.

They're going to the MCG!

Tense, tense, tense!

Adam Kingsley is on the bench.

This is chaos at Engie Stadium.

Just over a minute left.

Lions by five points.

LIONS IN FRONT

Anna Pavlou

OH THIS CANNOT BE TRUE.

THIS CANNOT BE HAPPENING RIGHT NOW.

Joe Daniher. AGAIN.

THE LIONS ARE IN THE LEAD!

Brisbane are up by five points over GWS.

Last five goals - the Lions!

Anna Pavlou

TO A CHORUS OF BOOS, JOE DANIHER DELIVERS!

The Lions are JUST ONE POINT DOWN.

What are we witnessing?

Giants 15.10 100, lead Lions 14.15 99.

This is a game for the ages.

Just over three minutes to go!

Now don't forget, the Giants led by as many as 44 points at one stage!

LIONS WITHIN 10

Anna Pavlou

OH MY GOODNESS ME!

This is an EIGHT POINT BALL GAME.

All of a sudden, Brisbane has within double figures.

The see-saw, the ball bouncing everywhere. High McCluggage handballs and it's Jaspa Fletcher in on the Lions' action.

GWS up by eight points. Just over six minutes to play.

They are NOT going away

Anna Pavlou

Are we at the AFL or the soccer?

Dayne Zorko is keeping these Lions alive, as he sneals in their 12th goal of the night.

His moved into the Lions forward 50 is looking crucial from coach Chris Fagan!

GWS still lead, but this time only by 14 points.

Keefe is here! As eagle-eyed Cats land!

Anna Pavlou

Some eagle-eyed Cats coaches have been spotted in the crowd.

They include James Rahilly and Steven King. They're definitely preparing for their preliminary final next week.

But who will they be playing? At this stage, the Giants lead by 20 points, thanks to a miss from Lachie Keeffe.

Anything can happen in this final term. Who wins from here?
