"Rode the rollercoaster. Credit to Sydney. They played a super three quarters. Coxy had them galvanised after the incident late in the year. They played physical, team footy," Longmuir told Fox Footy.

"We were able to hit the scoreboard and that just put a little bit of pressure on them and gave us the momentum. Really proud."

Leigh Montagna believes Sydney simply ran out of energy in that final quarter fade out, saying they gave it everything they had after a tough month.

“Full credit to the Swans, they were incredible. They just ran out of troops, ran out of legs and ran out of steam, but they should hold their heads high,” Montagna told Fox Footy.

"They were amazing, but Fremantle wanted it more and in the end they got there."

Hayden Young’s set shot goal from outside the boundary line right on three-quarter-time to get the Dockers back within four goals and generate some spark needs to be talked about more.

That goal instantly enters preliminary final folklore. The moment that saved Freo’s season, and potentially set up their premiership.

“We can’t underestimate the importance of that goal,” Jason Dunstall tells Fox Footy after the game.

Leigh Montagna adds: “I don’t think Freo wins without that goal.”

Speaking himself, Young said: “I was getting a mouthful from over the fence, so I was stoked when it went through.”
