Geelong spoiled Scott Pendlebury's record-equalling 432nd AFL game in a 54-point defeat of Collingwood on Saturday night.
In another blow for the Magpies at the MCG, they lost captain Darcy Moore to concussion.
Bailey Smith chalked up 40 possessions and Oliver Henry booted four goals as the Cats carved out an 18.14 (122) to 9.14 (68) win.

Pendlebury drew level with retired North Melbourne legend Brent Harvey on 432 games and was impressive on the occasion, tallying 27 touches and kicking a goal.
But the 38-year-old Magpies champion will be eager to put the game out of mind and set his sights on a match against West Coast at the MCG in two weeks' time, in which he will surpass Harvey to become the outright games record holder.

Pendlebury will be rested for next week's match against Sydney at the SCG so he can mark the historic moment in front of the Collingwood faithful at the MCG in round 11.
The No.10 on the back of his guernsey is expected to be gold for the special occasion. It's an idea that some have criticised, including former Collingwood captain Tony Shaw.
Reluctant to talk about himself in a post-match interview with Fox Footy's Jack Riewoldt, Pendlebury shifted attention to Patrick Lipinski and Tom Stewart, who played their 150th and 200th games respectively.
"Tonight we wanted to celebrate 'Lippa' as well, and pay respect for Tommy Stewart," Pendlebury said.
"He played game 200, he's a fantastic player.
"Just disappointed we played how we played tonight."
Moore was ruled out with concussion after copping a knock to the head on Saturday night.
Oisin Mullin collects Darcy Moore high. Fox Footy
The Magpies skipper and Geelong's Oisin Mullin put their heads over the ball simultaneously late in the second quarter and Moore came off second best, with the Irishman seemingly collecting him high with his left shoulder.
Mullin is unlikely to attract scrutiny from the match review officer.
"No issue about this; this is just a footy accident," Melbourne great Garry Lyon said on the Fox Footy broadcast.
"Oisin Mullin's attack on the footy was admirable, and unfortunately for the Collingwood skipper, [he is] no longer a part of this game."
