Mitch Georgiades and Sam Powell Pepper's 'bizarre' misses fail to hurt Port despite North's second half surge
Two embarrassing misses from Port Adelaide's stars in the second quarter of their match against North Melbourne didn't come back to bite them as the Power defied a comeback attempt to claim victory.
Port started fast in Adelaide, leading 7.3 (45) - 2.4 (16) at the first break.
As the Kangaroos started to surge in the second quarter, Port looked like they'd fluffed two chances to gain back momentum.

With eight minutes left, Mitch Georgiades took a mark only metres away from the posts and just on the outside of the goal square.
The forward opted to play on, but missed completely with an absolute shank.

"He went to snap it left foot around the corner and hit the wrong side of the ball and it went in the opposite direction that he intended, we are seeing everything today," Jason Dunstall said on Fox Footy.
A minute later, Sam Powell-Pepper earned a penalty right in front for a push in the back.
His set shot, just before the goal square, went right into the hands of Charlie Comben on the mark.
"This is as bizarre as it gets," caller Dwayne Russell said.
Dunstall added: "I've never seen so many regulation goals missed in a short space of time".

A ball-up followed before Jason Horne-Francis eventually snapped a goal with pressure on him.
"And then they quick one that shouldn't be kicked," Dunstall said.
At half time, Port's lead shrunk to only 12 points and by the third quarter it was only 13 with the Kangaroos eyeing off a massive upset.
However, the Power stayed strong to claim a 14.13 (97) - 13.10 (88).
North's Paul Curtis and Power star Darcy Byrne-Jones both led to goal count with three each.
Harry Sheezel had 30 touches for the Kangaroos but it wasn't enough.
Next week, North plays Essendon on Thursday night before the Power are up against the Bulldogs at Ballarat on Saturday.
