'You don't need to know': Tigers coach Benji Marshall refuses to explain Lachlan Galvin recall

Tigers coach Benji Marshall has refused to explain his decision to recall exiled star Lachlan Galvin only a week after dropping him to reserve grade.

On Easter Monday, the 19-year-old played for the Western Suburbs Magpies in their 22-10 NSW Cup loss to the Eels at Lidcombe Oval. Hours later, the senior team suffered a similar fate up the road at CommBank Stadium.

In Galvin's absence, Jarome Luai and Adam Doueihi were completely outplayed by the returning Mitchell Moses.

Speaking to media on Saturday morning, Marshall said he was "sick of talking" about Galvin's return.

"Why would I care what people say?," he replied to a question about his recall.

"I've said it every week ... I'll pick the team that I think is best. So we've moved on. Focusing on the game this week. We've just got to get the win.

"Everyone wants to know why I picked the team. You don't need to know why. I picked the team that I think is best for us this week, and we'll go with that.

"We've made a real effort to just move on and focus on what we can control now, and that's playing footy."

How the long-suffering Tigers fans will react when Galvin runs onto Leichhardt Oval on Sunday afternoon remains a big unknown.

Marshall said he believed it would be "pretty positive".

"The dust settled a bit since last week, so we'll just get behind him," he said.

"He's in our team. We're expecting him to do the usual thing and play the way he plays and that's what we want from him. If he sets up a try early or scores one, that'll help.

"No doubt last week was a big week for everyone.

"Just move on and get on with our footy and Leichhardt Oval, Anzac Day, big round, Alex [Twal's] 150th game. There's a lot for us to celebrate this week."
