The AFL is likely set to investigate a social media post that made an apparent threat against Melbourne Demons coach Simon Goodwin on Sunday evening.

The apparent threat was published on X just minutes after the Dees suffered a six-point loss to St Kilda and included a picture purporting to be Goodwin's car in an underground parking lot.

The account "Kozzy Owns You" wrote they were "waiting outside Simon Goodwin's car".

"Don't fret fellow Melbourne fans you won't need to worry any further," the caption said.

The post had not been taken down at the time of publication.

Nine's Tom Morris confirmed both the AFL and the Demons were aware of the post.

"I'd be surprised if this doesn't reach the integrity unit at some stage this week," Morris said on 9News Melbourne.

Several accounts have commented on the post tagging Victoria Police's official account.

Neither the AFL nor the Demons have commented on the threat.

The post comes less than three weeks after a Collingwood member was given a five-year ban for a threat sent via text message to Carlton coach Michael Voss.
