Another premiership Lion linked with trade move to Victoria

Four clubs are circling out of contract Brisbane midfielder Sam Marshall, according to leading AFL reporter Callum Twomey.
The 20-year-old played in the 2025 premiership side, but is out of contract and being courted by Melbourne, St Kilda, Essendon and the Western Bulldogs.

The former Lions Academy product was selected with pick 25 in the 2025 draft and played the last 10 games of 2025, including through the finals series.
However, he has only featured twice in 2026 in a deep Brisbane midfield unit. Twomey told Nine’s Footy Classified that Marshall is weighing up his future.
It’s set to be an enormously busy off-season for the Lions, with Zac Bailey, Lachie Neale and Will McLachlan all also linked with departures.
Bailey is weighing up a move to Adelaide, Neale is seemingly off to Collingwood and both Carlton and Essendon have strong interest in McLachlan.
