Cheeky Hawks star Jack Ginnivan is never far from controversy and his appearance at Brownlow Medal night raised the ire of plenty of AFL fans who wondered how he got an invite.
Ginnivan was not considered among Hawthorn's top performers across the season and only six players from each club are invited - supposedly the six with the best chance of taking home 'Charlie' - the nickname for the prestigious award that the night is designed around.
In the end he polled three votes for a best on ground performance against his old club Collingwood - his only three votes for the season - making him the Hawks' seventh strongest performer of 2024 in the context of Brownlow voting, just about justifying his appearance.
Every time he was photographed he looked like the cat that got the cream as he went public for the first time with his relationship with model Lily Mitchell (pictured).

Harley's wise cracks
It's been a phenomenal year for teen sensation Harley Reid.
Since being drafted, Reid has been a firm favourite in the Western Australian media.
The West Coast Eagles star came to the stage after winning Goal of the Year.
Asked if he'd ever been on the back page of The West Australian, his reply was simple.
"Not in the last 24 hours," he said with a laugh.
