Sam Cucchiara

Sam Cucchiara returned home to Melbourne at the end of 2018 following a three-year stint in Queensland.

While completing his journalism studies at RMIT University, Sam worked as a social media producer at Nine in Melbourne and as a producer/reporter at the ABC’s Asia-Pacific newsroom – filing television reports for News 24.

After relocating to the sunshine state in 2016, Sam took up a position as a general reporter at Nine’s Gold Coast newsroom – where he also filled in as the sports presenter, and was part of the network’s coverage of the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

In 2018, Sam moved to Brisbane to take up the role of Crime Reporter for Nine News Queensland – covering major breaking news events across the state.

During his final year of university in 2015, Sam was a finalist in the Walkley Young Journalist of the Year awards.
