Surprising explanation for woman's controversial outfit choice at sister's wedding
A US woman has been met with unexpected backlash after revealing the gown she chose to wear at her sister's wedding.
"A dress so nice I wore it twice," she shared on her TikTok channel @ana__stasiaaaa.
In the video we see Anastasia, from Philadelphia, standing in front of a full length mirror explaining her outfit choice.
"This is my outfit of the night, I'm at my sister's wedding and she's upstairs at cocktail hour," she explains.

Anastasia wore her own wedding gown to her sister's wedding. TikTok
"So, I am actually wearing my wedding dress," she says of the white gown.
"You guys can kind of see the bottom."
She then turns around to show the black bow feature on the back.
Viewers were quick to remind her that wearing a white gown to a wedding, let alone an actual bridal gown, is widely frowned upon.

The backlash against the outfit choice was swift. TikTok
Some feared for the future of her relationship with her sister.
"You don't wear a wedding dress to someone else's wedding event," one said.
"Even if she's okay with it, why do you want to wear a wedding dress to your sister's wedding, like what is the reason," another asked.

"You wore a wedding dress to your sister's wedding," added another.
"YOU CANNOT WEAR THAT I WILL LITERALLY COME AND SPILL A RED DRINK ON YOU," another said.
"I'd pour red wine allll over it," another commenter wrote.

As the comments continued, Anastasia jumped on to quickly point out she and her sister are twins and her sister asked her to wear her wedding dress to the event, with the white and black gown perfectly suiting the bride's chosen colour scheme.
Another bride who asked her bridesmaids to wear white gowns to her recent wedding commented: "I told my bridesmaids to wear white to my wedding and they were super hesitant but looked so beautiful."
