A waitress who is sick of rude and demanding customers has outlined her biggest pet peeves in a viral series of TikToks.

US woman Lizzy Smith, 24, shared a fascinating insight into the customer behaviour which irks waitstaff the most – but not everyone seems to agree with her videos.

In the clips, Lizzy re-enacts the most annoying customer habits, including clicking fingers to get a waitress' attention and not responding when the food has arrived.

Lizzy's first video begins with a rude customer who orders her drink before the waitress finishes greeting the table.

She then acted out a scenario where a table of people stared at her silently when she brought the food, instead of explaining who ordered what.

"When they take FOREVER to claim the food, and just leave you standing there awkwardly," Lizzy captioned her video.

This particular bugbear seemed to hit the right note with fellow waitstaff, who agreed this was a frustrating habit.

"I'm a food runner and too many people just stare at you like you're crazy when I bring their food,' one person wrote.

Meanwhile, some people disagreed and said it was her job to remember which customer ordered each meal.

"Isn't it literally your responsibility to know who ordered what?" one user asked.

"Where I work, I'm taught to get the order in a certain order so I can remember," another added.

In her second video, Lizzy pretended to be an impolite customer clicking her fingers to get the waitress' attention.

She also lamented the fact many patrons make her run back-and-forth for drinks and condiments when they should ask for it all at once.

"I didn't respond to snapping, whistling, etc when I was a server," one person commented.

"Meanwhile I hate bothering waiters because I know how busy they get," another added.

Lizzy's third "pet peeve" video shines a spotlight on customers who fight over the bill, leaving her to awkwardly stand there and wait.

Her fourth clip then focusses on people who complain about their order, even though it is exactly what they asked for.

"I once had a woman order a Pinot Grigio and then yell at me when I brought her a white wine because she wanted red wine," one woman wrote in the comment section.

Lizzy then shared a video revealing how frustrating it is when customers blatantly ignore her as she approaches the table.

"When they just… completely ignore you? And look annoyed that you talked to them in the first place?? That's how this WORKS, babe."

Several fellow waiters and waitresses shared Lizzy's sentiment in this particular clip, agreeing it happens far too often.

"They're always mad like I made them come in and eat," one woman complained.

"Can we please normalize wait staff being able to stand up for themselves like this?" another added.
