Alyssa was trying to kill a spider when her foot was impaled by her high heel

It's a situation not too uncommon to encounter when you're living in the land Down Under — the need to kill a spider.
One Sydney woman's attempted hit on an arachnid, however, ended with a trip to the emergency room after a freak accident meant her foot got impaled by her own high heel.
Alyssa Lambert, 25, ended up needing surgery to remove the shoe from her foot. Watch footage of the ordeal above, which was originally shared to TikTok.

After having to flee her bed, Alyssa landed on her high heel. TikTok
On January 24, Alyssa spotted a large huntsman spider on the ceiling of her bedroom.
After fetching some bug spray, she stood on her bed in order to reach the spider so she could spray it.
As she was trying to spray the spider, however, it lurched in her direction and she was forced to jump off her mattress, ultimately landing right on top of a high heel that had been lying on the floor, heel side up.

Alyssa initially asked her housemate to remove the high heel from her own heel, but an ambulance was called instead.
According to a TikTok comment Alyssa wrote, the heel was approximately 1.5cm wide and "not sharp at all."
"Everyone at the hospital was very fascinated with how I managed to do it haha," she wrote.
Paramedics wrapped Alyssa's foot — with the high heel in it still — before she was rushed to hospital.

After an X-ray, it was revealed Alyssa's shoe had impaled her foot by 4.5cm and it would require surgery to remove it.
Two weeks on from the surgery, Alyssa is home and has five days left on crutches. Soon, she will be able to walk again.
According to a follow-up video, Alyssa managed to get away with no bone or tendon damage.
She said in the video: "As if I'm not the luckiest son of a b---h you've come across!"
