$90k wedding up for grabs this Valentine's Day

A wedding to the value of $90,000 will be auctioned off this Valentine's Day in a joint initiative between The 2 Montys marriage celebrants and The Mark Hughes Foundation.

This auction takes place each year on February 14, with NSW venue The Anchorage Port Stephens partnering up with local businesses for the offering.

All money raised will go to The Mark Hughes Foundation this year.

Interested bidders just need to turn up in person at 6pm or dial in via Zoom.

The date for the wedding in question is Friday July 26, 2024 – in just five month's time.

The 2 Montys are Hunter Valley marriage celebrants Monty King and Monty Haron. This will be their fifth Charity Wedding event.

The pair say they realised "the power of community over competition" which prompted the initiative.

The 2 Montys previous four charity wedding events have raised over $170,000 in total, including $34,500 in 2019 for Camp Quality, $40,100 in 2020 for Starlight Children's Foundation, $55,000 in 2022 for RUNDIPG and most recently $42,000 in 2023 for Jenny's Place - Domestic Violence and Homelessness Support.

The wedding package includes:

Up to 100 guests hosted at The Anchorage Port Stephens with additional guests who can be added outside of the donated package at the expense of the couple and including a ceremony, reception, accommodation for the couple, room set up and bar and food service staff valued at $22,059.

Bryce Noone Photography including nine hours of coverage, online photo gallery, engagement shoot and pre-wedding catch up valued at $4,600.

SRJ Media wedding videography including 'Indie film package' with eight hours of coverage, an up to eight minute documentary film of the day and one 60-second 'hyer reel' for 'Insta bragging' valued at $3,899.

A Beautiful Occasion Florals and Styling valued at $5,000.

Kazzie Music live music for during guest arrival and ceremony, including five specially requested songs for key moments, valued at $1,100.

Silent Shout reception DJ including reception and dance floor lighting valued at $2,290.

Love Glows Letters Lights Love custom neon signs including 'L.O.V.E' sign and neon signs valued at $2,500.

Butter wedding cake to the value of $1,200.

Rundle Tailoring for suits valued at $1,500.

Matthews Jewellers couples wedding rings including a private consultation valued at $2,000.

Your First Dance Co. dance lessons, four dance lessons to the value of $370.

The total of this incredible package is $90,000.

The Mark Hughes Foundation (MHF) was formed by Mark and Kirralee Hughes after Mark's brain cancer diagnosis in 2013.

The charity raises much-needed funds for research and to raise awareness of brain cancer as well as to support patients and their families.

Brain cancer leads to more deaths in people under 40 than any other cancer with survival rates increasing just 1 per cent in the past 35 years.
