Sophie Delezio reveals she is expecting her first child: 'Greatest gift of all'

Sophie Delezio has shared the exciting news she is expecting her first child.

The 23-year-old, who announced she was getting married to her high school sweetheart Joseph Salerno last year, revealed her pregnancy on Instagram.

"The greatest gift of all coming in September! 👶🏼🤍," Delezio captioned a sweet bump photoshoot.

The young burns survivor also shared an image of her ultrasound in the Instagram photo carousel.

In another snap, her fiance Salerno can be seen jokingly cradling his own belly.

Hundreds of followers and well-wishers have taken to the comment section to congratulate Delezio on this huge milstone.

"Oh this is the best news ever!! Big congratulations," one person wrote.

"Congratulations, you are both going to make the most incredible parents," another said.

Delezio, who survived after a car crashed through her childcare centre on the northern beaches in Sydney in 2003, has been planning her wedding to Salerno since their engagement in 2023.

By the time she was just five-years-old, she had survived a second near-fatal car accident.

The pair revealed their wedding plans to Women's Weekly at the time, explaining they wanted to tie the knot in the Hunter Valley in 2024.

A few months ago, Delezio also revealed she had undergone surgery in order to walk down the aisle at her wedding.

She shared photos of herself and Salerno in separate pics at the hospital, including one where she was lying in a hospital bed.

"Sorry for my radio silence lately... Life threw me a major curveball and I had to undergo surgery in order for me to walk down the aisle next year!!" she wrote.

"Plus, in the midst of all that chaos, we moved house right in the middle of my recovery!"

Delezio then assured her 20,200 Instagram followers she is "settled now and on the mend."
