Gymnast Simone Biles' husband slammed for saying he didn't know who she was at first
Simone Biles' husband has gotten himself into a bit of hot water.
NFL star Jonathan Owens recently appeared on The Pivot Podcast, where he chatted with host Channing Crowder about the early days of his relationship with now-wife Simone Biles.
"How in the hell did you pull Simone Biles?," asked Crowder, to which Owens responded: "Really, how'd she pull me, man? That's the question."
Biles recently became the most decorated gymnast of all time.

Owens went on to explain that he first met Biles after matching with her on dating app Raya in 2020, but he had no idea who she was.
At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, Biles took home four gold medals and one bronze for her gymnastics prowess. Owens says that he was in college at the time and didn't watch the Games.
The only thing that tipped him off to the fact that Biles was "someone" was her high follower count on Instagram, he said on the podcast.
"I'm like, 'Lemme see who this is.' I never really paid attention to gymnastics, so it piqued my curiosity," he explained.
"The first thing that I saw was that she just had a bunch of [Insta] followers. So in my mind I'm like, 'Okay, she's gotta be good'".
When the show's co-host questioned Owens' assertion that he was the "catch" in their relationship, Owens simply replied: "I always say that the men are the catch."

His comments drew swift backlash from online commenters, who pointed out that Biles is a much bigger deal than he is. Many found it very implausible that a professional athlete would have no idea who Simone Biles is.
"I literally don't watch the Olympics and I still know who Simone Biles is…" one person wrote.
"Divorce immediately," another chimed in, while one person said that he's simply a "walking red flag".

Following the backlash, Owens, a football player for the Green Bay Packers, shared a photo of himself and Biles to Instagram. "Unbothered. Just know we locked in over here," he captioned the snap of them at their wedding.
Biles then re-shared the photos to her own page.
