Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reportedly jetted off to Central America for a warm, sunny holiday before Christmas, with their kids in tow.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were spotted in Costa Rica with their son Prince Archie, 4, and daughter Princess Lilibet, 2, CRHoy.com reported on Thursday.

The couple reportedly landed in the country's capital on December 14, but packed their bags and headed home a week later on the 20th.

Though the couple have kept mum on their plans for Christmas Day, there is speculation the Duke and Duchess are open to joining the royals in the UK to celebrate.

Royal reporter and host of the podcast Pod Save The King, Russell Myers, told Today it would be a "Christmas miracle" if this were to happen.

"I can't see it happening but the rumours in Hollywood are swirling and the rumours in Sandringham are swirling that Harry and Meghan are up for a royal reunion and why wouldn't they be?" Myers explained.

"This is Harry, he's trying to reach out to his father, we had a birthday call, we had the video call from the grandchildren," Myers continued. "He's had a couple of court cases here in the UK and maybe he's up for some Christmas cheer."

Myers pointed out that even just the last 12 months have been filled with "mud-slinging" from Harry and Meghan's camp, kicking off with his memoir Spare which was released in January.

"And that certainly hasn't been forgotten," he said. "There certainly needs to be some cooling of relations as far as some members of the family are concerned towards the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

"However isn't Christmas a great time to get the family together and let bygones be bygones."
