Queen receives gift from ambassador as Her Majesty's return to work continues after COVID-19 diagnosis

Queen Elizabeth continues her return to work since battling COVID-19.

On Thursday, Her Majesty undertook two virtual engagements from Windsor Castle.

During one of those, she was presented with a thoughtful gift and looked rather delighted.

High Commissioner of Malawi, Dr. Thomas Bisika, presented Her Majesty with a landscape painting.

The gift was propped up on an easel so the 95-year-old was able to see it via the video link.

The monarch, who was wearing a blue floral dress and her trademark pearls was seen smiling as she looked at the picture.

Her Majesty also held an audience remotely with Vishnu Dhanpaul, the High Commissioner of Trinidad and Tobago.

Both high commissioners attended the audience at Buckingham Palace with their wives.

It's the second lot of virtual engagements the Queen has held from Windsor Castle this week, having cancelled some at the end of last week due to illness.

Her Majesty tested positive for COVID-19 last month and was said to be experiencing mild cold-like symptoms.

When asked about the monarch's condition following the illness, Prince Charles told a member of the public: "She's a lot better now - it was very mild".
