Their marriage is the longest in the history of the British royal family, having celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary in November 2020.

Prince Philip has been a constant support to his wife throughout her 69-year-reign and is the longest serving consort within the monarchy.
Despite their privileged places in society, their relationship began like many around the world, with an introduction sparking a desire to know more about each other.
They married in 1947 at a time when Britain was still recovering from the ravages of World War II and now, 73 years later, are experiencing another global battle, together, with the onslaught of the coronavirus pandemic.

The years in between then and now saw the birth of four children, countless royal tours and official engagements, scandals and heartache.
But what remains constant is their steadfast dedication to each other.
