Queen and Prince Philip share sweet new portrait for 73rd wedding anniversary
Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip have shared a new photo with fans to mark their 73rd wedding anniversary today.
The monarch and Duke of Edinburgh were photographed in the Oak Room at Windsor Castle earlier this week by royal favourite, Chris Jackson.
In the sweet portrait, Her Majesty, 94, and the Duke, 99, are seen looking at a card made by their great-grandchildren, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

They are also surrounded by cards and letters sent to them by well-wishers.
Her Majesty is wearing a pale blue double wool crepe dress by Stewart Parvin, accessorised with the sapphire and diamond platinum Chrysanthemum Brooch.

The piece of jewellery has special meaning for the monarch, as it dates back to when she and Philip were newlyweds.

Then-Princess Elizabeth was photographed wearing the Chrysanthemum Brooch in images taken on her honeymoon at Broadlands in Hampshire, back in 1947.
Her Majesty sported the brooch again in their 60th wedding anniversary portrait in 2007, when the couple re-visited their honeymoon spot for the special occasion.

The couple first met in 1934 when Elizabeth was just eight years old but it's believed they met again five years later, when the Princess was 13 and Philip was 18 and began writing letters to each other.
In 1946 it's understood Philip asked King George VI for his daughter's hand in marriage, which was given on the proviso they did not formally announce their engagement until after the princess turned 21.
On July 10, 1947, three months after Elizabeth's April birthday, the couple announced their engagement and wed on November 20, 1947.
They have eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, with another one on the way.
