Pregnant Princess Eugenie opens up about lockdowns and her father-in-law's coronavirus battle

Pregnant Princess Eugenie has opened up about how she's faring in the latest lockdowns across the England.

The 30-year-old also spoke about the coronavirus pandemic during an Instagram Live with Cameron Saul, creator of the Together Band, as part of her work with the Anti-Slavery Collective.

The royal congratulated Cameron on building his high-profile campaign, which is based on a series of bracelets made from sustainably sourced materials, sold to raise money for the 17 UN Global Goals. They're made by a collective of women in Nepal who have been rescued from human trafficking.

While Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson's youngest daughter didn't discuss her pregnancy in any detail, she did say she felt "very lucky to have had my health".

"Lockdown's been okay for me. I can't believe we're on lockdown 2.0, as everyone's calling it," the mum-to-be said.

"I'm very lucky to have had my health throughout number one and number two, and I just can't really begin to imagine what people are going through, who are getting ill."

Princess Eugenie, who announced in September she is expecting her first child early next year with husband Jack Brooksbank, also touched on her father-in-law's battle with COVID-19.

George Brooksbank was hospitalised back in March.

"My father-in-law was quite ill in lockdown one so I am so grateful that he is alive, that there are so many incredible people out there fighting for everyone's lives," she said.

Cameron and Eugenie spoke about how technology and working from home has impacted modern slavery.

Almost as soon as the issue of technology came up, ironically, their video call succumbed to tech troubles — the kind we've all experienced at least once since working from home became the new norm.

The royal handled the moment with a smile and grace, laughing and saying: "Basically, I'm not very good at technology, if anyone didn't know that."

After turning off her wifi connection, all was right with the call for a while but the duo were eventually forced to hang up and try again.

Princess Eugenie apologised again at the end of the call for a "terrible wifi connection my end" as the pair said their goodbyes after an almost 50-minute chat.
