The 'most likely' names for Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank's baby have been revealed

Princess Eugenie and husband Jack Brooksbank will welcome their first child in early 2021 and speculation as to what they will name their first child is intensifying.

There are three names that are most likely, according to betting odds released by BetVictor in the UK. They are Alice for a girl and Arthur or Henry at equal odds for a boy.

All three are at 9/1 odds.

This has changed since the pregnancy was announced when Victoria and Arthur were the frontrunners.

"Eugenie and Jack's pregnancy announcement is the good news that royal fans have been desperate to hear all year," Jessica O'Reilly of Ladbrokes said at the time. "The early betting suggests they may opt for Arthur or Victoria, but we can't rule out a slightly more left-field royal name."

Alice is thought to have special significance to Princess Eugenie as it was the name of her grandfather Prince Philip's mother.

The names Arthur and Henry are both of special significance to the royal family with Arthur being the middle name of three royals - Prince William, Prince Charles and Prince Louis.

Henry is the real name of Prince Harry and has a long association with the British royal family.

Other suggestions for a girl include Grace at 14/1, Victoria at 14/1, Alexandra at 14/1, Diana at 18/1 and Isabella at 22/1

If the baby is a boy other possible names include Thomas at 12/1, Godfrey at 14/1, George at 18/1 and Charles at 20/1.

Although as modern royals, Eugenie and Jack may opt for a a more unusual name as we saw with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex who chose to name their first child Archie. Instead of opting for Archibald which is usually shortened to Archie, they went straight for Archie, critics be damned.
