Harry and Meghan spend holiday weekend apart as the Duke leaves America

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have spent the Memorial Day weekend apart after the Duke of Sussex travelled to China.

Harry, 40, attended the Envision 2025 Global Partner Conference in Shanghai, hosted by Trip.com Group and in partnership with Travalyst, non-profit global coalition of which Harry is a founding member.

The royal delivered the keynote address at the event.

Meanwhile Meghan, 43, remained at the couple's Montecito home in California in the US with their children Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, three.

While he was in China, Meghan posted an adorable video showing herself and one of the kids in the garden of their home, dressed in beekeeping gear.

Dressed head-to-toe in the white beekeeping ensemble, completing the look with colourful gumboots.

The video was shared on the duchess' Instagram account.

Lilibet will celebrate her fourth birthday in a week's time on June 4.

Prince Harry used his time at the conference in China to discuss the importance of action on climate change, a cause that is shared by his family, including is father King Charles and brother Prince William.

"Climate change isn't just an environmental challenge – it's a critical business emergency, costing the global economy $143 billion dollars annually," he said in part, as has been reported by People.

"Now is the moment for the industry to reaffirm its commitment to being a force for good.

"Challenges will undoubtedly rise, but if there's one thing I've learned in my life, it's that meaningful change never comes easily.

"The true measure of our commitment is how we respond when the path becomes difficult. We must never give up."

Harry's trip overseas coincides with King Charles' arrival in Canada.

The King and Queen Camilla arrived in Ottawa on Memorial Day. Their trip was shared on the British royal family's official social media accounts.

"Their Majesties have arrived in Canada!" the caption read alongside photos of the couple being greeted.

"What a wonderful welcome in Ottawa from the local community, including school groups from Ontario and Quebec, some of whom are involved in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Programme."

In a recent interview with the BBC Prince Harry revealed that his father his no longer speaking to him.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex resigned as senior working members of the British royal family in January 2020, relocating to the US where they launched their own private endeavours.

Harry has spent much of this time fighting to have his UK security status reinstated, claiming it isn't save for him to visit his homeland with his family.

Following the loss of his final appear, Harry spoke publicly about his estrangement from his family.
