According to the outlet's spotlight on the 40-year-old, the royal was inspired to become an environmentalist on a trip to Africa in his youth.
"The Duke of Sussex supports conservation groups in Africa and says he really became an environmentalist during a trip in 2012 to the Caribbean when a seven-year-old boy told him that England's environmental impact was damaging the coral reefs," the profile said.
"After that interaction, he was inspired to start Travalyst ('travel' and 'catalyst'), a nonprofit that provides people booking travel with emissions and other sustainability data so they can consider the lowest impact options."
Travalyst endeavours to "help make a dent in the industry's carbon footprint" amid the statistic that tourism contributes to about 11 per cent of global greenhouse gas emissions.
The company, along with Google, created the free Travel Impact Model that predicts carbon dioxide emissions per passenger so that they can make informed travel decisions.
